Dual Degree programme 2024. Call for proposal

Building on the last year’s success, we are thrilled to announce the second call for the Twinning Dual Degree programme, aimed at encouraging Twinned universities to develop Double Degree programmes.

Dual degrees should be developed at master’s level.

The model of dual degree can vary, with the whole programme being delivered in Ukraine but with the UK partner delivering at least part of the programme.

The scheme is open to Ukrainian and UK universities in Twinning.

The grant available for 1 dual degree programme is £80,000.

The grant holder can be only the UK university, who will also ensure the fund transfer to their Ukrainian partner during the project implementation. Therefore, Twins should check and agree on financial operations with their respective financial offices in advance.

The funding model for this project is flexible. Needed resources and their distributions is a matter of agreement between the Twins.

Aim

The aim of the scheme is to promote the development of dual degree programmes based on credit mobility/recognition. Through this, Ukrainian students will get a chance to obtain their national degree alongside the British one without having to leave Ukraine.

It is hoped that these graduates will develop skills that will be vital to the rebuilding of the Ukrainian economy and higher education system over the coming years.

It is also believed that the close interaction necessary to develop a dual degree programme will build capacity at a Ukrainian university in a range of areas, including teaching and quality assurance.

Please note that one of the deliverables of the programme is regular share of the results in establishing and running a programme to improve the Twinning Dual Degree programme and help disseminate best practices and launch new iterations.

It is required that universities launch their dual degree programmes in September 2024 with part of the programme being delivered by the UK partner.

Universities in Ukraine and the UK will be supported by Mosaik and Cormack Consultancy Group to help develop and launch the programme

Eligibility

All Twins are encouraged to apply. The partnership must be between existing Twins, who have established Twinning partnership with a signed MOU in place at the time of application.

Universities who received funding for the pilot dual degree programme will not be considered for this specific grant. This decision is made to provide new opportunities and extend our support to a broader range of institutions.

Once applications have been received, they will be evaluated by an independent committee consisting of representatives of the following organisations

Evaluation committee:

·      Mosaik Education, Fund holder (the UK)
