Global Virtual Internships for Ukrainian Students

In April 2025, the UK–Ukraine Twinning Initiative, in collaboration with Virtual Internships, supported 20 Ukrainian university students to undertake structured, remote, project-based internships with international host companies.

The programme aimed to strengthen employability, practical skills, and work readiness, providing students with meaningful professional experience during a period of ongoing disruption to higher education in Ukraine.

Internships were hosted by companies across the UK, Canada, the United States, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Nigeria, India, and South Africa, offering participants valuable exposure to global working environments.

Students completed real-world projects across key career fields, including Business, Computer Science and IT, Marketing and Creative Industries, as well as Design and Fashion. Through this experience, participants developed transferable skills, expanded international networks, and enhanced their career prospects.
