Twinning Project Director Joins Skills Alliance Coordination Meeting
On January 30, Olexandr Smyrnov, Director of the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative in Ukraine, participated in the second coordination meeting of the Skills Alliance initiative, focused on reskilling and upskilling Ukrainians. Participants discussed labour market needs for Ukraine’s recovery, innovative training programmes, and international collaboration.
💬 “Twinning between international and local players can be highly effective in bringing new skills into the Ukrainian labour market,” noted Marko Štermšek, Lead Economist and Inclusion Specialist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The Twinning initiative continues to support workforce development and international cooperation, including dual degree programs between UK and Ukrainian universities, preparing professionals to lead Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
