University of Liverpool Supports Sumy State University with Humanitarian Aid

The partnership between Sumy State University and the University of Liverpool, established through the UK–Ukraine Twinning Initiative, continues to demonstrate the power of international collaboration and solidarity.

As part of their ongoing partnership, the University of Liverpool has provided a significant humanitarian donation to support Sumy State University. The shipment included furniture for teaching and office spaces, such as desks, chairs, and cabinets, together with a collection of books that will enrich the university's library and contribute to enhancing the learning environment for students and staff.

The delivery also included medicines, medical equipment, mobility aids, hygiene products, household essentials, clothing, blankets, bedding, and food supplies to support the university's clinical facilities, the Academic and Research Medical Institute, and the wider university community.

In total, more than 800 items of humanitarian aid, weighing over eight tonnes, were delivered to Sumy State University.

Sumy State University expressed its sincere gratitude to colleagues at the University of Liverpool for their continued commitment, generosity, and support during this challenging period.

The UK–Ukraine Twinning Initiative, coordinated by Cormack Consultancy Group with support from the President of Ukraine's Fund for Education, Science and Sports, continues to strengthen partnerships between UK and Ukrainian universities. While these partnerships are built on collaboration in education, research, and innovation, they also demonstrate a shared commitment to supporting university communities in times of need.

Rector, Vasyl Karpusha: "We are deeply grateful to the University of Liverpool for standing by Sumy State University in this challenging time.
